This project is a competition to identify the greatest talent to help us create a series of web-based multimedia videos for our website - including our home page. At the same time, this project gives our users a chance to shape the new Bayt.com, and for talented artists to get noticed and get awarded.
What do we need?
By the end of my current project, I need an intro video that explains clearly to our users what we do, and a pair of videos that explain how our employers and job seekers can get the most from Bayt.com. I also need to scale this visual concept across all other Bayt videos including help videos.
So what do you submit?
You submit one video that shows your use of an original visual concept to one of my scripts. If you can't make a video but have skills at creating visual concepts, then submit a storyboard that shows your ideas.
Your video and/or storyboard must be based on one or both of the scripts below. Note that your visual concept should be able to carry across all our videos. If you only have visuals, you must include a text note that tells us what/who you'll need to finalize the video. Be sure to make clear how your concept would be implemented. Don't send us a single image and hope we can read your mind. Preference - and the contract - is obviously given to those entrants who take the idea all the way to completed video.
Keep in mind, this concept must maintain the consistency of our brand - colours, logo...all that stuff.
So what's in it for you?
The best visual concept will be shown proudly on bayt.com, in all of our related PR materials and on the contest Microsite at icandraw.bayt.com. We'll choose the best video and award all or part of our contract for our videos to the winner - depending on if you can roll-out your visual concept across all the videos on your own, or if you need help.
We are looking at a minimum of 3 trilingual videos. We've valued the initial contract is valued at over 20,000 AED - but this is only a start. All videos will be attributed to the winner, we will include the winner in press releases and showcase the winner on our site.
If the winning entry comes only as a storyboard, then the winner will receive all the publicity, but without the ability to produce our videos they won't be eligible for the contract.Judging will be done by a team of Bayt.com staff. The judges will include Bayt.com CEO Rabea Ataya, COO Dany Farha, CTO Akram Assaf, Marketing Director Lama Ataya and Head of Strategic Initiatives Dan Stuart, and anyone else we think should have a say.
What are the details?
Purpose of the Video:
To clearly explain to our employers and job seekers how they
can get the most from Bayt.com...through our 7-Step Programs.
Target Audience:
Bayt.com job seekers or employers...there are 2 videos. You choose
which one to tackle here. Remember, our users are from a range of language abilities,
backgrounds, ages, geographies, education levels, and cultures. Videos and video
concepts should feature strong visuals that speak clearly across languages. The message
can be in either of Arabic, English or French (or preferably in all 3) and easily
portable to all 3.
What we've seen that we like:
We have seen good examples of clear and effective
explanation videos:
www.commoncraft.com,
www.storyofstuff.com,
www.xplane.com,
how-to videos on
www.apple.com
and UPS commercials.
Storyboard/Design:
That's up to you
Content:
Use your talent and creativity...you could use live action, clay figures,
dried pasta or jelly beans. Don't get caught-up in trying to be too complicated - the
simpler the better!
Interactivity:
Possible user interaction with the video generating/increasing/maintaining
engagement.
Where are the scripts?
We've come up the following two scripts: one for employers and one for job seekers. Pick 1 and create a visual design that will work. That said, we want a design that we can use across these and other videos.
